Rules & Regulations
School rules have been framed in partnership with parents and student. They reflect the institution’s expectations of acceptable prototype of behavior, dress and personal appearance in the widest sense. Students are expected to tag on, the school norms and conditions at all times in the school complex, representing the institution and attending any activity which directly or indirectly coupled with the institution.
General Discipline
Students are expected to

- Read all the circulars or notices and bring them to their parents or guardians.
- Behave safely, considerably and responsibly including when travelling to and from school.
- Carry out the School motto and vision.
- Exhibits a strong sense of fairness and social justice.
- Maintain a neat appearance and observe the policy of the school dress code.
- Care for property belonging to themselves, the school and others.
- Our students are representatives of St. Mary’s educational institution from home until they return and are thus expected to set themselves a high standard of conduct both inside and exterior the school.
- Any form of, verbal or physical, or any means of bullying or victimization is strictly forbidden
- The school does not hold itself responsible for injuries sustained by the pupil, for unintended negligence or natural disaster, while in the school. However the first aid will be rendered immediately and injuries necessitating Hospital/OPD treatment attended to, without delay.
- Students are advised not have private tuitions.
- Collection of funds for any purpose is forbidden without prior permission of the principal.
- Students are required to behave politely and avoid use of indecent language or actions to the feelings of fellow students, teaching& non teaching staff or others.
- Serious violation of the rules and regulations of the school are liable to be punished including elimination or expulsion from the school.
- In the absence of the teacher from the classroom, pupils are required to observe stillness and obey the monitor of the respective grade.
- Fines are deemed obligatory to be on students, are only to improve or to enforce discipline.
- Staying away from the mandatory school functions, including Annual Day and Sports Day without prior permission or justification will be measured a discipline default.
- English being the medium of instruction in the school, students must speak English even in their private conversation.
School Uniform policy.
Students must come to school every day in school uniform. It should be worn tidily both at school and between home and school. The full uniform must be worn at all times. Shirts are to be tucked in; and socks are to be pulled up; heel scraps in place. It is the students’ responsibility to have their uniform ready each day. Where a situation arises concerning a student’s uniform, written request need to be referred to Vice-principal.
The following are not to be brought on to the school ground
- Alcohol or drugs in any form
- Chemicals
- Chemicals
- Cigarettes or tobacco
- Knives or other weapons, including BB guns
- Matches /lighters/explosive or dangerous material
- Phonographic or any other offensive material
- Cameras
- Mobile phones
- Laptops/Notepads/Tablets
PARENTS RESPONSIBILITIES.
- The principal can be met usually between 9.30 a. m. to 11.00 a.m. on other times by appointments.
- Parents are requested to keep in touch with the school authorities about their wards progress frequently.
- Parents are expected to do their part in enforcing regularity and discipline. They should make sure that the children prepare their lessons.
- Parents are expected to provide a safe environment in which he or she can develop appropriate social and academic skills.
- To emphasize values like scholastic excellence, civic involvement, personal responsibility, respect of self and others, emotional well-being, and creative expression.
- Parents are requested to know and believe the mission of the school and its promises to children.
- Parents are required to understand and accept the values upon which the school operates.
- Parents should check their ward’s almanac everyday and ensure that lessons and homework assigned for the day are done. Remarks given by the Principal or Teachers in the almanac should be seen and counter signed.
- Parents are required to inform the school if there is any change in their address and telephone numbers in the standard Performa available at school.
- Avoid asking for a half-day leave. In case of emergency, permission must be sought, in writing from the principal through the Class Teacher.
- Do not send your ward to school, if he/ or she sick or not good at health.
- Parents attention is drawn to the fact that criticism of the school or teachers in presence of the child should be scrupulously avoided as it causes the students to lose respect for their teachers with the consequent failure to learn from them that may retard their progress.
- If there is any legitimate complaint, please meet or write to the Principal at the earliest. Your complaint would be personally verified by the Principal and suitable action will be taken up.
- Parents are advised to ensure that their wards should attend school on the notified date at the beginning of the semester or after the each vacation.
- Parents are requested not to board the school buses, either to see or receive their wards.
- Parents should not try to overtake and stop the school bus to facilitate the boarding of their wards as this endangers the safety of the bus. Such attempts would lead to strict disciplinary action against the offenders.
- Parents should not argue with the Teachers/conductors/ Drivers present in the bus. In case any problem, a written complaint should be informed the Principal.
- Any change in the school schedule or any urgent information will be communicated to the parents or guardian through an SMS.
